Abstract

|
The objectives of the study are to analyse the chromosomal karyotype in order to apply for improvement of fish breed using genetic engineering.
Direct method for chromosomal analysis allow us to identify the chromosome number and morphology. The modal diploid chromosome number of masu salmon(Oncorhynchus nasou) was 66 and the karyotype consisted of 17 pairs of meta-, submetacentrics, 16 pairs of acro-, telocentrics. The modal diploid chromosome number of atlantic salmon(Salmos salar solar) was 54 and the karyotype consisted of 9 pairs of sub-, metacentrics and 18 pairs of telocentrics.
The modal diploid chromosome number of coho salmon(=silver salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch) was 60 and the karyotype consisted of 23 pair of meta-, submetacentrics and 7 pair of acrocentric and 1 subtelocentrics.
